Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of September 28, 2006, General meeting was
approved as written in the newsletter.
Officer & Committee Reports:
Presidents Report:
- Candise welcomes everyone, new members and returning
members introduced.
- Perioperative Nurses week is November 12-18; submit an
article for the newsletter as to what your facility
will be doing.
- Volunteers are needed at Congress in Orlando. They need
about 100, if you’re interested please contact
Candice or visit the National website.
- A DVD was shown by Candise of the highlights of 2006
Congress in Washington D.C., we hope this will
encourage members to attend Congress 2007 in Orlando, Fl
President Elect
- November 7th, 5pm is the deadline for newsletter items.
- Marcia and members will be interviewing new members and
senior members. They will be publishing these
interviews in the newsletter as a way for us to get to know our
fellow members.
- Please send any pictures or articles covering what your
facility is doing for OR Nurse’s week.
Vice President
- November 4, 2006- The Fall workshop- will be based on
same format as the previous Spring Workshop. The time
is from 0700- 1400 at Naval Medical Center. There will be 4
speakers, breakfast, and lunch will be served. There will
be an I-POD Shuffle raffled at the end. New products by
participating vendor-partners will be shown in the exhibit
hall.
- NMCSD will co-sponsor, with TCMC, 7-8 High School
students at each facility for OR Nurse’s week.
Jim is asking members to please send him statistics on first
case cancellations. He would like rate vs. total caseload
statistics and strategies. Email-

Treasurer/Finance:
The Treasurer's Report is available to the membership in
the monthly newsletter and at the General Meetings.
By-Laws & Policy:
Proposed changes to the By-Laws were reviewed and
discussed. A motion was made to accept the changes as published.
Motion passed with no dissent.
Membership:
- 357 current members.
- 338 Regular members
- 8 Retired
- 3 students
- 2 Platinum members
- 4 Associate members and
- 1 lifetime member.
Legislative:
The report will be published in the November Newsletter.
Nominating Committee:

Fall and Spring Workshop:
See VP report.
Informatics:
- Mel is working on training the committee members to
manage the website.
- Our website has been hit by "Spoofers." This is an
unauthorized person or company (generally a Mass Mailer)
accessing another web address to email Spam all over the world.
Hospitality:
- Thank you to Marlon Mason, MicroTek and Tri-City Medical
Center for the refreshments tonight.
- Please participate in our silent auction fundraiser. It’s
for a good cause.
- Next month the Dec. 7th meeting will be at Sharp
Spectrum. It is our Christmas potluck, we want everyone to come
and enjoy.
Scholarship:
CNOR/CRNFA applications are available on line for members.
Golf Committee:
June 8, 2007. Twin Oaks, San Marcos, CA.
Ways and Means:
There are entertainment books available at $40.00 each see

Please submit ideas for the committee to Jim.
Unfinished Business:
- Please submit to Eloise a short paragraph detailing any
activities that you have participated in
that promote perioperative nursing.
- Points will be
awarded towards delegate selection for Congress.

Announcements:
- Fresh Start will be having a surgical weekend, November
11th – 12th. All who are interested are encouraged
to volunteer.
- Please exercise your right of citizenship, go out and
Vote this November 7th, there are important issues that
need your vote!
There being no further business to conduct,
the meeting was adjourned at 1845. The next meeting is scheduled for
December 7, 2006 at the Sharp Spectrum Center in San Diego.
