2011 AORN of San Diego Candidate Statements & Ballot
The following Chapter Members are running for office. Please review the candidate statements before you vote.
There are three ways to vote.

Paper ballots will be provided at the General Meeting held on May 26, 2011 so you may vote at the meeting.

Candidate Statements:
Vickie Pierce-Candidate for President-Elect: "I again seek the office of PE. I have served this chapter on many different committees and elected positions. I have been active for over 35 years and feel I am in tuned both locally and nationally."
Suzanne Higginbotham-Candidate for Secretary: "I have been an active member of the San Diego AORN for over 25 years. I have served in many positions more than twice and have always enjoyed being an active member. I look forward to serving as secretary again."
Anne Hones-Candidate for Treasurer: "I am running for the office of Treasurer again. Last year I took over the office to complete the present term. I learned a great deal about recording all our financial information in Quick Books and plan to continue learning how to use it to our best advantage. I would appreciate your vote for Treasurer. Thank you."
Michelle Fennell-Candidate for Board of Director 2-year Term: "I want to serve on the board to continue my involvement in our chapter and its growth and advancement into the future."
Board of Director-1-year term-Vote For One
Ester Morales-Candidate for Board of Directors 1-year Term: "Involvement in professional organizations is rewarding personally, has been a great way to learn more about a nursing specialty, and promotes networking with leaders and peers. I have been active with multiple organizations and value the opportunity to serve.
Eddie Webb-Candidate for Board of Directors 1-year Term: "As a long time member of AORN, I feel that I can be an asset to the chapter of AORN in San Diego. I have been involved locally in the chapter for a few years, but wish to
get involved again.
Linda Brown-Candidate for Nominating Committee-2-year Term: "Around forty years ago, a "senior nurse" who I worked with, took me to my first AORN meeting in Phoenix. From then on I saw my chosen profession in the Operating Room and this newly found professional organization through different eyes. I remained active serving on various committees and Board post ions over the years in different cities/states. Now as a "senior" it is time for me to help nurture and recruit the future of our profession and our local chapter. This can be done as a member of the Nominating Committee. I ask for your vote for a two year position to our "Nominating Committee."
Jeff Belcher-Candidate for Nominating Committee-1-year Term: "I have not been personally very active with AORN in recent year. However, in my new role at Rady Children's Hospital as the Director of Surgical Services, I understand that I have an opportunity and responsibility to encourage greater participation by me and my staff in AORN, both nationally and locally. Being on the Nominating Committee would be a great first step for me to role model this commitment."

Note: Online voting ends at 2:00 pm on May 26th. Any ballots received after 2:00 pm on 5.26.2011 will not be counted. Print a paper ballot and bring it with you to the Chapter Meeting which begins at 6:15 pm.
